What Is Needed?
• Cozy, stable picnic blanket (waterproof if possible) -- mats or tarps will be provided to go underneath
• Outdoor clothes, hats, sunscreen, & sensible shoes. :-)
• Water. Please give snacks before/after class only to keep Valley Cat clean & allergen-free (nursing infants is always OK).
• Symptom-free families. Runny nose or fever? Please stay home, as always.
Valley Cat Music provides all instruments to share, but if you'd like to bring your own to prevent cross-germination—or if you're wondering what to collect for at-home musical play, here's the list (we'll "Remind" you each week what we're using):
• Two per person (one in each paw):
• shakers (eggs, maracas, rattles, homemade containers with rice/pasta)
• rhythm sticks (wooden/plastic spoons/spatulas -- no metal, no chopsticks)
• scarves (any cloth object, dishtowel, bandanas)
• One per person
• drum (tambourine, bongos, tupperware, bowl, box)
• ball (large enough to roll from parent to child, underinflated for easy grabbing)
• mixed percussion (anything you already own—without specific pitches, metal, or batteries)
• lovey/stuffed animal.
At-home-only items:
• parachute (twin sheet/large scarf for at-home use only)
• xylophone (similar to resonator bells used in class)
Remember: each family member needs their own set, not only children!
Valley Cat Studio and Valley Cat NoHo will provide
• a private, shaded space to gather
• all instruments & props (except loveys)
• bathroom, soap & water, hand sanitizer
• facilitation of amazing & fun MUSIC!
Attendance signifies you release Valley Cat Music and teachers personally from responsibility for any injury or illness sustained through choosing to participate in outdoor classes.
NOTE: Covid vaccinations are strongly recommended, especially if you have not had Covid, but no longer required.
