Thank you for your interest in our classes! (schedule below)
As a family in one of our Music Together classes, you and your child will have the opportunity to play musically each week under the guidance of one of our early childhood music specialists. During class, you will sing and move to songs and rhythmic rhymes in a variety of meters and tonalities by participating in activities that include small and large movement, instrument play, and community singing. These fun activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers to participate in regardless of their own musical ability.
What's in the Box: Each fall, winter, spring session has its own song collection (CD plus download code and brand-new fully illustrated & revamped songbook), with nine distinct collections in all; three summer compilations are "best of" collections; holiday session uses Music Together "Family Favorites" vol. 1 or 2 or the "Lullabies" collection plus the intro 8 songs on the free app). Families new to Music Together will also receive our “Music Together at Home: Helping Your Child Grow Musically” parent booklet, a growth chart to look ahead at your child's potential musical development (and yours), and occasional newsletters from Music Together..
The Family Music Zone & "Hello, Everybody" app:
As an enrolled family, you'll create one Music Together login to share with family members & caregivers across all devices, and with each song collection you'll receive a code to unlock your music either online at the Music Together Family Music Zone or on Music Together's free "Hello, Everybody" app. Both platforms provide access to your songbook, Music Together storybooks, song notation, videos, and much more!
Class Size: The minimum enrollment is currently four to six families; maximum online is eleven. Two adult caregivers are always welcome to participate (parents, nannies, grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc.). Any class not meeting the minimum enrollment is subject to cancellation, so invite your friends to join you in your favorite class if you see there's space! See FAQ on Who Can Attend?
Starting a Backyard Class: To start an outdoor class with friends in your bubble/pod, please contact the director. You'll need six children to get started, shade, space, and parking, plus access to bathroom facilities not inside your house.. Masks will be required for all adults/children over 2, Each location used by Valley Cat Music must be approved by Music Together prior to use.
Attending an Online Class as a Pod: Preschool/caregiving pods are welcome to join an online class together; each family should register for the class individually with a note in their registration of the pod name.
